ObjectivesThe seminar is a course for students of the Area "Master Economics, International Environment and Development Studies". The students have to fulfill two tasks in groups or alone. Firstly, a scientific article is to be reviewed. Secondly, they have to write a proposal for a research project using data from Africa (Tanzania). The proposal has to be presented in a block event. Participation in the seminar will be graded. The total grade consists of paper review, written proposal and presentation.

Basic literature to introduce each topicIn the introductory lecture the student will get detailed information.
MethodologyIndividual methodological approaches must be elaborated in the project proposal and assessed in the review.
